Birding heaven!

The last three weeks have been spent scouting out sites for our new project in the Colombian Andes. Many difficult and interesting birds have been spotted in the process! Fantastic views of the Indigo-winged Parrot (our book calls it one of the rarest birds of Colombia) and the Crescent-faced ant-pitta are among the highligts. But, other notable observations include several Santa Marta endemics, bicolored ant-pitta, dusky piha, Cauca guan and many more. Tor's Andean life list must be odd for a real birder - lacking all the common stuff, but including lots of the rare stuff :)
